Roscoe Corporate in Austin Builds Community at Foundation Communities Supper Club

Once a quarter during 2017, Roscoe will be conducting a ‘Supper Club’ for Foundation Communities residents at their Capital Studios location! These Supper Clubs are potluck style events, where volunteers bring warm nutritious meals to the property, serve their meals to 20-40 of the residents, and join the residents in dining and fellowship afterward for a conversation.

This Tuesday, employees from our corporate office in downtown Austin, TX served their first meal for 28 Capital Studio residents. These residents are living in efficiency units with limited funds and kitchen space, and our staff were thrilled to meet and serve their downtown Austin neighbors.

Regional Manager Danielle Kriegsman says:

“It was a really fun activity to do with my coworkers. I’m glad I got to meet our neighbors and I hope we keep doing it!”

While Laura Newman, our Human Resources advisor, shares that her favorite moment was when:

“I got to talk to this really interesting resident who had been a caterer for the Texas State government. He had met presidents and worked with Governors and their First Ladies, even Lady Bird Johnson. It was great to hear his stories and learn more about Texas history!”

The next Supper Club will be in mid-June! If you’re interested in learning more about Foundation Communities and want to volunteer yourself, visit these pages for more information.
